Carmela and Brock’s Wedding

Carmela and Brock were the sweetest couple…an absolute delight!  They came to me as a referral from Adam & Cat, which they were guests at.  I was beyond thrilled to help them coordinate their wedding!

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect!  A gorgeous sunny day on July 12, 2014, guests arrived at St. Catherine of Siena church in Mississauga.  With a gorgeous church, you don’t need a whole lot of decor.  Large hydrangea blossoms hung from the pews with ivory satin ribbon.  Two large white pedestals topped with tall topiary shaped arrangements consisting of with hydrangea, roses, dusty miller and pink astilbe, framed the altar.

Following the ceremony the guests headed up north to the Royal Ambassador Banquet & Event Centre in Caledon, ON.  The conservatory room was used for cocktails.  The wedding party really banded together here.  They teamed up to have guests sign the guestbook (which was an over-sized canvas that Carmela & Brock had custom designed by a local artist) and offered them shots as they arrived.  As guests mingled and made their way through the receiving line, two east coast fiddlers played tunes to keep the guests entertained.  The fiddlers brought in some of Brock’s family’s heritage, which was an awesome touch.

The main ballroom was so incredibly romantic.  The decor was all blush pinks, whites and dusty silvers.  Two foot tall floral arrangements were on each table, very similar to the altar arrangements at the church which helped to give the room height.  The guests were allowed to take these gorgeous arrangements home, which involved a fun game during dinner to determine the winner.  The food…where do I start with all of the food.  From the anti-pasto bar during cocktails, to the pasta, the entree with two meats, the salad, the seafood…and don’t forget dessert, and then the late night poutine station and sweet table.  Suffice to say…everyone was incredibly well fed, and the food quality was incredible.  Service staff were incredibly diligent when it came to food allergies, which is always a good thing.  The staff at the Royal Ambassador were all incredibly helpful and ready to lend a helping hand.

Carmela & Brock were able to sneak away a number of times throughout the reception to capture some incredible photography on the grounds of the Royal Ambassador, including some twilight and moonlight shots (which I can’t wait to see)

It was a long day from start to finish, but in the end the couple was thrilled with the results, and the guests danced the night away.  Carmela & Brock, thank you for having CHARCOAL EVENTS a part of your special day.
